RESISTANCE IN EXISTENCE
EXISTENCE IS RESISTANCE
Intervention, Diskussion, Performance

We resist by existing.
existence in resistance.

We make ourselves heard and seen, felt and reckoned,
now, in this exact time, place and climate,
we exist and we resist.

The collective EXISTENCE IN RESISTANCE uses performative work to confront areas and spaces which are inherently neo-colonial and capitalist. The performative interventions during the festival days stand as a sign for anticapitalist resistance practices against a neoliberal meritocracy and a criticism on structural and systematic discrimination mechanisms in the field of public life. As such, spaces like the Viennese Votiv church, the subway station Josefstädter Straße or capitalist hotspots like the Viennese Graben in the First District are occupied. The collective demands a confrontation with the “invisible” repression mechanisms on a political and day to day basis as well as interpersonal dealings.
