Exhilarated processions and liberating rituals in the spirit of the 1920s: SODOM VIENNA, the post-utopian city of solidarity and joy, presents anti-racist and queer-feminist manifestations at WIENWOCHE 2020.
Red Vienna in the 1920s stood for utopia and revolutionized housing policy, women’s emancipation, education and healthcare. Based on the film “Sodom and Gomorrah”, which was shot in 1922 involving thousands of background actors in the working-class district of Favoriten, SODOM VIENNA invites you to celebrate a delightful queering of our city. With collectives such as Omas gegen Rechts, Têkoşîn, Chor Hor 29. Novembar and Afro Rainbow Austria, we are taking over the politically disputed Viktor-Adler- Market in the run-up to the Vienna elections in October 2020: Lovingly fighting against racism, fascism and sexism.
And we can go swimming: At the end of WIENWOCHE on the 20th of September, the floating manifestation on the waters of the old Danube will be all about body positivity, leisure and no-work time.
