WIENWOCHE
For many people, racist police violence is part of everyday life; controls due to skin color, supposed country of origin, or prolonged checks at times of deportations. A chain of repression, visible and yet invisible for the majority.
Every control leaves its bitter trace. Every deportation violently rips people out of their environment. Every time it sends out the same message, “You do not belong here”.
What can I do if I get into a racist police control? What are my rights? What do I do if I am deported? How can I support people who face deportations? How do I use my privileges to intervene during racist confrontations?
Workshop for all
The Workshop intends to open up a space for exchange on resistance forms against racism. While we will share the same place, there will be spaces of exchange for BIPoC’s and spaces of reflection on privileges among White people.
Collectively we will think about strategies of self-empowerment and possibilities of practical solidarity - be it at the train station, on the streets, on the plane or in the club!
Register at: bigsibling@riseup.net
If we have more registrations than free seats, we want to prioritize persons who experience racism. If you are privileged NOT to experience racism and deportations, we kindly ask you to let us know in your registration. We will treat this information with confidentiality.
